Shift-JIS Support
The most common Japanese encoding method is Shift-JIS. Shift-JIS encoding makes
generous use of 8-bit characters, and the value of the first byte is used to distinguish
single- and multiple-byte characters.
You need no special function calls to display a Shift JIS string. The main requirement
is a font which contains the Shift JIS characters to be displayed.
