Hardware specification
ShareScope requires a PC with a Pentium processor (or better) running Microsoft
Windows 95 or above (including Windows 98/ME/XP/NT and 2000). Other hardware
requirements depend on the version of ShareScope as detailed below.
The exact resources required by your system depend on your individual computer
set-up. For example, you may be able to run ShareScope with less memory than
indicated. The amount of free disk space required excludes extra disk space that
may be required for your operating system's virtual memory.

To download the ShareScope end of day price updates you need either a modem
or an Internet connection on your computer. Ionic Information supports direct
connections for all modem speeds up to V90. ISDN connections are also supported
using either the V110 or V120.

To connect to the real time or intraday data feed you will need to be connected to the
Internet (direct dial-up connections are not supported on the intraday feed). An ADSL
(or faster) connection is recommended to receive a full data feed. However a 56K
modem is sufficient to receive London Stock Exchange data and snapshot data for
other exchanges.
