Changing the Cannula
Change the infusion cannula every 2 to 3 days. Read the instructions that came with
your infusion set.

Disconnect the infusion set tubing from the cannula.

Remove the cannula from your body.

Insert the new cannula into your body. Refer to the instructions that came with
your infusion set.

Attach the new cannula to the infusion set tubing.

Perform a cannula prime as outlined in “Priming the Cannula” on page 34.
Priming the Tubing
Your infusion set tubing must be filled with insulin before you attach it to your body.
When to Prime the Tubing
• if you did not see drops appear at the end of the infusion set when you assembled
the tubing connector onto the pump body
•
to remove air bubbles from the tubing
WARNING: Make sure the infusion set tubing is disconnected from your body
before you prime the tubing.

When you attach a new pump body to the controller, the Prime menu appears
automatically. Press SELECT to start.
