member’s lesson. This mechanism allows the club professional to schedule their activities in a effective manor knowing that the system will provide warnings where they make the mistake of double booking lessons.
Incorporating member’s fees into the system
It is the intention that only the club secretary uses this part of the system. It defines a method where the secretary has a record of who has paid their annual fees. Incorporating this into the system allows the user to overlook the current state of a member. An example of this is that they are able to see how long the member has left on their membership and so could send an email to this person offering a membership renewal. It is also the intention that this process should be automated and therefore with regards to this example, emails could be automatically generated and sent to members who only have a month left on their membership for example. This mechanism may also be used to chase members up if their fees are overdue. Introducing a points system for members
This provides a method where members get points for where they position in each competition they play. Therefore if a member has lots more points than others then they are playing extremely well. This system could therefore show the “star members” in a golf club and these personnel should be rewarded for their efforts. Not only does this improve a clubs relation with their members but it may also encourage members to better themselves as golfers having this in mind. This could then be put to use where annual awards are given to decide who has been the most consistent player, over a 12month period.
An alternative approach to the point above is to maintain which players handicap changes by the largest margin over the year. This provides another helpful mechanism when determining who is most improved player for a whole season at a club.
