Click either one of these buttons to perform the cutting, according to the type
illustrated by the icon. When you have clicked one of the buttons, you can
still click one of the other buttons to choose another corner type. Once the
selection changes, for example additional objects are selected or the object
is deselected and then selected again, the modification is definitive.
Note:
It is possible to modify only one corner of the object, or to modify each of the corners in a different
way. Therefore, activate the Modify tool and select the corner you want to modify before you click
either one of the icons.
8.5.13 Etch and Emboss... (Contours menu)
To create a relief like effect on an object.
You can make an object look as if it was carved out in the background using Etch or you can make
it stand out against the background using Emboss.
To obtain these effects, both functions create a number of new objects (a back object and side
objects) derived from the original one (the front object) and group them in a particular way. Etch also
turns the original object into a mask. By assigning colors of different shades to the various objects,
you obtain the desired optical effect.
You can create either parallel or perspective Etch/Emboss. Parallel means that a copy of the original
object is moved by a certain distance, without changing the size, whereas Perspective means that
a copy of the original object is moved and scaled with respect to a vanishing point.
When you choose Etch/Emboss from the Contours menu, the Etch/Emboss dialog box appears.
