2) Installation of libdc1394-1.1.0
a) su root
b) tar –xvzf libdc1394-1.1.0.tar.gz
c) cd libdc1394-1.1.0
d) ./configure
e) cd libdc1394
f) make
g) make install
step (a) has to be done only if you are not root
3) Installing the modules
a) modprobe ohci1394
b) modprobe video 1394
c) modprobe ieee1394
d) modprobe raw1394
e) lsmod to view that all the modules:
ieee1394,raw1394,ohci1394,video1394 are now installed.
Note:
The modules have got some dependencies:
ohci1394  video1394
ieee1394video1394, ohci1394, raw1394
So if installing modules by insmod, video1394 and raw1394 have to be installed
first, followed by ohci1394 and ieee1394
4) Create proper 1394 devices
a) cd /dev
b) mknod raw1394 c 171 0
c) chmod 666 /dev/raw1394
d) mkdir video1394
e) cd video1394
f) mknod 0 c 171 16
