DeskNow - User Manual 1. Start Goliath, go to the 'File' menu choose 'New connection...' 2. In the 'New WebDAV connection window enter the URL. If your Desknow address is http://www.mycompany.com, enter the URL: http://www.mycompany.com/desknow/webfolders . 3. It is essential that the entered server address starts with 'http://'. 4. Enter your Desknow username and password in the correspondent fields, click 'OK' 5. The WebDAV connection is made within the application, the volume is not mounted on the desktop. However, it behaves like any other folder in the Finder. 6. Go to the 'File' menu, choose 'Save Connection As...'. The 'Save File' dialog comes up. Enter a name for the file and pick a place on your harddrive to save the file. For easy access save the file on the desktop. How to reconnect to your WebDAV folder: If you have saved the connection to a file, just double-click on the file and your WebDAV folder will show up automatically. You will not be prompted to enter a username and password. This can be a securityrisk! How to create a permanent server log-in: Just place to saved connection file into the 'Startup Items' folder within the Systemfolder on your harddrive. Everytime your computer boots you will be logged in to you WebDAV folder automatically. How to access DeskNow WebFolders using Linux There are several open source projects to mount a webfolder to the Linux file system. Please visit http://www.webdav.org for more information.
