MET EK Mic r o Rain Radar MRR- 2 21 Figure 12 Output Parameters The two upper panels shown in Figure 12 contain check boxes for configuring selections of averaged data and instantaneous data separately for recording. Instantaneous data are processed on the basis of one raw spectrum1. Averaged Data are processed on the basis of an average of multiple raw spectra, depending on the selected averaging time. The selectable variables are described in the table below. Selection of causes the recording of Height2 Spectra Drop Spectra Measuring height above ground Spectral volume reflectivity Drop diameter and number of drops per volume and diameter Two way path integrated attenuation Radar reflectivity factor and attenuated radar reflectivity factor Vertical volume flux of liquid water per unit area Mass of liquid water per volume Doppler velocity (1. moment of the spectrum) Attenuation Radar Reflectivity Rain Rate Liquid Water Content Falling Velocity 1 Since the raw spectra and the instantaneous data represent already averages over 10 seconds, the term “instantaneous” must not be understood literally. 2 The output variableHeight should always be selected, as this facilitates further processing of recorded data. 07.2009 Version 5.2.0.1
