2-6 EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS Model 700 Model 700 LSIV Right Side View LSIV Assembly Figure 2-6 LSIV Assembly The optional Liquid Sample Inject Valve (LSIV) is used to convert a liquid sample to a gas sample for analysis on the Model 700 Gas Chromatograph. A measured sample is placed in a heated chamber above the vaporization point of the liquid and then it is flashed to a gas. Once vaporized, the sample is pushed by the carrier gas through the heated tubing into the column train. Upper Enclosure JULY 2007
