For ZigBee connection, it is possible add, remove and configure networks, and set timeouts.
Simple mode
In the Simple mode, USB connection is automatically detected. If no instruments are connected via
USB, the active connection type (Internet or Local area network) is set as selected in the
Connection configuration wizard. It is mentioned in the message on the bottom of the window.
Simple mode uses the list of instruments defined by Remote Connection Wizard and does not
allow for adding or removing defined instruments outside of the wizard functionality – it's only
valid for Internet connection type. Moreover, setting the Simple mode disables the Internet
settings. These settings are configured automatically.
Note: If you use the Remote connection wizard to connect instruments, the Internet settings will
be configured and the Simple mode will be enabled automatically.
Common settings
In the Remote Settings dialog box it is also possible to set:
 Retry Counter and Retry timeout – if the connection is lost, the service will try to reconnect only
the number of times given in the Retry counter field and not longer than the time specified in
the Retry timeout field. If the number of trials or amount of time before a successful
reconnection exceeds the specified limits, the application will quit to reconnect.
 Station AS password – password used by the service when connecting to the Svantek server if
communication in the AS system is enabled.
11.1.2 INTERNET CONNECTION TYPES
Since the release of version 1.6.1 of SvanPC++, the RC module supports communication with
multiple stations using different types of Internet connection simultaneously. (For details on the
consequences of updating the RC module, see Section 11.7.) The available connection types
include:
 TCP/IP (Address Server or AS),
 TCP Client,
 TCP Manual,
 TCP / UDP CRP,
 UDP Manual,
 FTP.
The connection type is defined for each station separately at the moment the station is added in
Remote Communication Center (described in Section 11.2.1) or Svan Files windows.
