4.2.3 Proxy Generation Settings
The Proxy generation settings allow you to simultaneously create
proxies during a record with the VENICE server. A proxy is a downscaled version of the original material that can be used, for example, for
offline editing on other systems to enable previews of the video material in real-time.

These settings provide the following items:
Generate proxies
during record
Once this check box is activated, the proxies
will be created. They will be generated from the
video overlay of the VENICE client software
and written in MPEG-1 format with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels at the same location as
the captured material.
