9 The Modeling Tab 9.4.2 Smart Component Editor 9.4.2 Smart Component Editor Overview The Smart Component Editor allows you to create, edit, and aggregate Smart Components using a graphical user interface. It is an alternative to using the xml based library compiler. Layout of a Smart Component Editor It onsists of an icon, the name, the description for the component wherein the description can be modified by typing in the text box, and a combo box. The combo box specifies the language for editing localized strings (captions and descriptions) in the component. The default language is always English, even if the application language is different. The Smart Component Editor consists of the following tabs: • The Compose tab on page 262 • The Properties and Bindings tab on page 265 • The Signals and Connections tab on page 268 • The Design tab on page 271 Opening a Smart Component Editor 1 Click Smart Component or select Edit Component from the context menu.
