Tussman Program Release 10
have to ask which account you want to use each time you access certain functions such as printing
and recording checks or viewing your check register. Select Default Bank Account from the GL
Setup menu to select the account you want. The program will then assume you want to use that
account when printing checks or viewing your check register. The screen for those functions has a
Switch Account button that allows you to temporarily switch to another account. You can also
eliminate the default account, so that when you perform those functions you must first select the bank
account. To do this, select the option to eliminate the default when you bring up the Default Bank
Account option.

Reindex GL Data Files
To reindex the GL data files, go to the Reindex screen in the billing program (click on Reindex Data
Files from the Tools menu) and click on the General Ledger button. Enter the number of the
company (it will default to the currently selected company) and click OK to continue. To reindex
multiple companies you will have to do each one individually.
25.4
Backing Up the GL
When you create a backup using the program's backup/restore function, all GL data is included.
An alternate way of backing up the GL is to simply copy the entire contents of the Tussman Program
folder to CD or external drive, as all GL data resides in the main Tussman folder.
25.5
Archive GL Data
You can archive GL transactions from years that have been closed using the Archive GL Data
function on the GL Tools menu. Archiving is not really necessary, but if you have a very large amount
of data from prior years this could speed up some functions in the program. Select one of the following
options from the submenu: Note that before performing the archive or restore functions you must
make sure that no one else is using the GL and you must close all GL windows in the program
Archive Data - Enter the year you want to archive. Only closed years can be archived.
Restore Data - Restores the archived data back to the program for the specified year.
List Archived Years - Gives you a list of which years have been archived.

Calendar
26.1
Overview
The Calendar module keeps track of all your firm's appointments, tasks, deadlines and reminders. It
generates reports in a variety of formats, including week and month at a glance, for individual staff
members or for the entire firm. You can create a list of event codes so that when calendaring certain
types of events the program will automatically calculate and schedule a series of related events falling
a specified number of days before or after the main event. The calendar uses the same list of clients
and matters you entered in the billing program, and calendar entries can be converted to billing entries
with a single click of the mouse.
