MDisks on external storage systems are assigned the generic HDD tier by default. This setting can be changed manually by the user. To assign a specific tier to an MDisk, click Pools MDisks by Pool and click Select Tier from the Actions drop-down menu (Figure 8-51). Figure 8-51 Select Tier for an MDisk For demonstration purposes, we assign the tier Solid-State Drive to mdisk7 (Figure 8-52). This MDisk is a LUN made of Fibre Channel hard disk drives in an external storage system. The tier that was assigned by default is Hard Disk Drive.
